What Happened in the Life of Soumya, Who Was Accused of Killing Three Family Members, Including Her Father and Mother, to Live With Her Lovers

Soumya, a native of Pinarayi, remains a name remembered in connection with a series of murder cases that shocked Kerala.

The case in which she was accused of poisoning and killing her own family members, including her father, mother and daughter, shocked the people of Kerala. Investigations later brought to light allegations that Soumya had eliminated, one by one, those who stood in the way of her romantic relationships.

The incidents began in 2012.

Soumya, who was living separately from her husband, became acquainted with a young man named Kishore, who had come to the area for work. The two later began living together.

Although they were not legally married, they had two children from the relationship.

However, Kishore began suspecting that Soumya was involved in other relationships, which led to frequent arguments between the two at home.

Meanwhile, Soumya's younger daughter also died.

After that, Kishore left Soumya and moved away from the area.

After Kishore's departure, Soumya was reportedly involved in several new relationships.

Her father, Kunjikannan, strongly opposed these relationships. He objected to Soumya's relationships and prevented her from bringing different lovers home.

It was during this period that an incident allegedly changed the course of the case.

Soumya's elder daughter reportedly witnessed Soumya being intimate with one of her lovers. Investigators later reportedly found that Soumya had attacked her daughter following the incident.

According to the police investigation, Soumya was alleged to have decided to eliminate both her daughter and her father, who were opposed to her relationships.

A case was registered against Soumya for allegedly mixing poison with food and killing her father, mother and daughter. It was alleged that poison was mixed into the rasam served to her father and the fish curry served to her mother.

However, the post-mortem report raised suspicions that the deaths were not natural.

After high levels of aluminium phosphide were reportedly detected in the bodies, the police investigation turned into a murder case.

Soumya was also alleged to have attempted to mislead the police. She reportedly claimed that the deaths had occurred because chemicals had contaminated the well water. She was also admitted to a hospital, claiming that she herself was suffering from an unidentified illness.

However, medical examinations reportedly found no significant health problems in Soumya. Tests of the well water also reportedly found nothing suspicious.

This further strengthened the police's suspicion against Soumya.

After an investigation and further questioning, Soumya was arrested.

However, before the trial could be completed, Soumya died by suicide while in judicial custody.

Reports also stated that none of her relatives came forward to claim her body.

Soumya, who was accused of destroying her own family in order to live with her lovers, ultimately died by suicide while the case against her was still pending.
